Cannibal Love Anthology call:
Journal Entry: Fri May 16, 2008, 11:52 AM
Okay, it seems enough people are interested in making cannibal love - themed stories. I'm the most disorganized, ignorant would-be editor on earth, though, so I can only come with a rough plan for now. Tell you what: give me a rough idea of who wants to pitch in. Then I can go to a publisher and say, "Here's who I've got for the book, is this something you'd be interested in?" A very rough pitch (please keep ratings to R (no graphic depictions of sexual penetration!).
Of course we wouldn't formally pitch it until the actual book is finished, but at least we'd know which publishers to approach. Then we can come up with a due date. Of course, I don't guarantee a publisher or up front pay. For now, it's purely for the fun of it.
So, what I'd like to see from now to June 1, is a short (100-200 word) synopsis of your story, roughly how many pages it might take, and of course links to your official websites or emails. Feel free to leave it in the comments to this post, or email it to me at tintinp(at)gmail.com . Also, feel free to announce this to anyone else who might be interested in contributing!
All forms of desire are game (except pedophilia): gay, lesbian, straight, red velvet cake, etc., as well as all genres. Prose, poetry, illustration, and comics are acceptable. However, stories must explore both love/ desire and cannibalism in some form:
Cannibalism-
whether metaphorical, literal, poetic, emotional.
It's often said that when you love someone, you want to devour them, or incorporate them into yourself. Or maybe it's the opposite- you feel that love is devouring you- that you're being absorbed into someone else's identity.
From antiquity, elements of this taboo can be found in many cultures: Redemption via the consumption of divine flesh . Jupiter eating his children. The Papua tribesmen who eat their enemies to acquire their powers, or eat their ancestors as a sign of devotion (for the opposite, see Amy Tan's Joy Luck Club.
Then there are literal cannibals- serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer is the most immediate to mind- who derive sexual thrills from consuming the flesh of their object of desire.
What kind of cannibal are you?

Bad things about the zen: i havent figured out how to initiate a 'shuffle' program, and there are far fewer accessories and dealers available. It's also a bit heavier and bulkier than the newer ipod models. Good things: it freezes sometimes, but resets easily; you can watch regular mp3 vids without converting. It synchs very easily with windows, so you dont have to go through itunes. And it's not an Apple! thats the best thing! I recommend getting the 60 gig video Zen M.

Your mp3 player of choice is a creative zen- I've never had one and I'm thinking of buying either that or an ipod. Would you know how it compares with an ipod? Also, how many gb is your zen- and how many songs can it store?

This generic notice has been submitted to your personal community message board on account of your having exhibited an enviable flare for artistic delivery through use of your gallery space, in conjunction with a presumed affinity (to a certain degree) with the enduring Transformers franchise.
So why the impromptu dissertation, you might well ask?
Please rest assured that one needn't feel compelled to digest the entirety of my long-winded review (I do admittedly comport a tendency to WAFFLE...!).
Hope to hear from you soon!
